Your Support Makes the Difference!

The Class of 2022 has written a new chapter in our high school history as they prepare to graduate in June after spending much of their high school years in a pandemic. Support our seniors and their persistence today by donating to our Community Values Scholarship.

This scholarship helps students cover the costs of college expenses that include books, room and board, and tuition. We are a Title I school with 60% of our high school students qualifying for the free and reduced meals program. We serve a diverse student body that comes from every Ward in the District of Columbia. We aim to graduate young adults who are self-directed, intellectually engaged and possess a commitment to personal and civic responsibility.

A panel will select awardees based on their need and their essay responses to how they embody Capital City's community values of Contribution, Compassion, Courage, Self-Discipline, and Integrity.

Awardees will be announced at our Senior Awards Ceremony in June 2022.

Who is the Class of 2022?

• They are 76 students who must complete a rigorous capstone project, called a senior expedition, in order to graduate. The topics for the Class of 2022 senior expeditions range from examining the impacts of crime, climate change, racism, and health, to name a few.
• 45% will be first-generation high school graduates
• 53% will be first-generation college students
• 100% of our seniors have been accepted to college
• They have received more than $6 million in scholarships
• They include two Posse Scholars, a Questbridge Scholar, and an AU District Scholar!
